Group Income Protection (disability)
Group income protection provides a percentage of the employee’s income if they are absent from work through long term illness or injury. A claim is based on the individual’s ability to meet the requirements of their role, rather than the nature of their illness, disability or condition.
Businesses across the UK are collectively spending billions of pounds every year on employees who are unable to work due to long term illness or injury. Income Protection helps to protect companies from the increasing costs of employee absenteeism. As well as providing a valuable core benefit to employees it allows a business to accurately predict and budget for absence costs.
Employee Assistance Programs (EAP)- Although this is available as a stand-alone purchased product, many Income Protection insurers now include an EAP in their policy proposition at no additional cost. An EAP is a confidential, short term, counselling service for employees with personal problems that may affect their work performance. An EAP also provides valuable referral services for those faced with financial, emotional or legal issues.
